We’ve been really busy here at Alliant Studios! Here is a quick recap of our recent work!
Our discovery process is designed to determine who you are and where you need to go with your brand. We collaborate as a creative team and welcome you to join in the process. By becoming students of your brand, we uncover your foundations with relevant insights about your culture, competitors, and direction. Our holistic approach guides us toward effectively creating or supporting effective brands.
The Alliant seed was planted in the early 90s when two guys dreamed of starting a premier communication design firm with a partnership mentality. Alliant means ally and it’s truly the why of what we do. We believe that when you can align your passions and your vocation, you find purpose. For 15 years, our focus has stayed true to our original purpose: ongoing, long-term client relationships—partnerships.
The point of strong partnerships is to achieve results—not just making things beautiful or winning awards (though we do both). We understand that achieving results means helping you to attain your business objectives. That’s our job—through strategic design and a touch of magic—to shape perceptions and help you stand out from the crowd. When that happens your business grows.
Kevin is a 20-year seasoned veteran in the creative industry, with a proven track record in leading award-winning and effective brand campaigns. Having served in a wide variety of creative, account and brand management roles, he offers clients a unique combination of creative and strategic solutions. His work has been featured in the Big Book of Logos, and he has also received several design awards from design associations including the American Graphic Design Awards and The International Academy of Visual Arts.
Kevin co-founded Alliant Studios in 1998, and with the Alliant team has supported design needs and developed brand identity systems for hundreds of emerging organizations and established organizations such as United Way, Prison Fellowship, Consumer Electronics Association, ICF International and Allpoint. His creative vision and management strengths help Alliant Studios address client needs from both business and design perspectives.
He lives in Fairfax, VA with his wife Chrissy and four adorable designers in-training — Skyla, Brody, Grady and Cooper.
Rebecca is the voice of Alliant. More often than not, interacting with Alliant means interacting with Rebecca—and that is a good thing! Rebecca brings to Alliant 6 years of program management and corporate marketing experience. Most days you’ll find her adjusting schedules, balancing deadlines and cost restraints in order to “get things done” and achieve the best results possible for our partners.
Rebecca received her B.S. in Business Marketing from Liberty University in 2007. She worked for several years at a large international manufacturing company before joining the Alliant team in 2011.
Rebecca loves all things food, fashion, and music and she enjoys many a weekend at local shows around town.
In August of 2008—after ten years of professional experience in print, web, interactive, and identity design—Chris enrolled at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary to receive his Master of Divinity degree. Yet that odd career move may be the best way to understand who Chris is and what he contributes to Alliant as a designer, developer, and art director.
Chris is an irrepressible storyteller. “Anything worth saying is worth saying in story.” In fact, everything we do or say or write has a story lurking somewhere behind it. We cannot escape telling stories; we can only escape telling them well. Graphic design, of course, is the art of visual storytelling. Chris went to seminary in order to understand the really big stories—the ones that shape and give meaning to life. After earning his degree degree in 2012, Chris joined the Alliant team and now oversees all our efforts to spin straw into gold.
Chris married Jen (Hill) Anderson in 2005, and they are raising two young dictators—Jack & William.
Rachael Swanson balances more than just “the books” at Alliant Studios. Rachael is a CPA and received her degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Biola University. She worked in public accounting for several years before venturing into the private sector. At Alliant, Rachael leverages 13 years of experience to better serve both clients and management. She is dedicated to helping Alliant foster long-term relationships with our clients by providing timely and accurate financial information.
On the weekends, you will most likely find Rachael cheering her kids on at the baseball field, tending to her vegetable garden or out on the town with her husband.
Alliant has been strengthening our clients’ brands for more than 16 years. And while we’ve enjoyed working with some of America’s more visible organizations, we’ve also built a reputation for helping emerging companies find their voice and confidently step out into the marketplace.
We are passionate about working closely with our clients – creating brand strategies, building brand identity programs, developing advertising campaigns, and crafting results-driven brand expressions that get our clients noticed. Whether it’s developing a new corporate brand or large-scale advertising initiative, our experience with national and international campaigns and brand structures give us a strong understanding of how brands are shaped, nurtured and successfully evolved.
That’s a little bit about us, but we’d love to learn more about you – give us a call!

Description A 3-month internship starting in May/June 2014 thru August 2014 that provides the opportunity to learn, to experience design in a professional setting, and to contribute in both creative and administrative roles. On the creative side, the intern will be asked to work with members of our creative team to assist in the development and execution of creative, effective and original solutions to design projects on behalf of Alliant’s clients. The degree to which an intern is able to contribute directly to client projects is determined by that person’s skill set, knowledge and talent. Alliant Studios’ 3-month internship program is a […]
The ideal candidate is a hybrid web designer/developer. While we recognize a broad spectrum of skills ranging between those two poles, we’re looking for a candidate closer to the “development” end of the continuum (a little heavier on the nerd and lighter on the hipster … but feel free to be both). We’re not currently interviewing designers with limited web experience looking to move into that space. Rather, we’re looking for a designer/developer with at least 1–2 years experience coding websites using current best practices (see requirements below). We assume (and expect) you are passionate about the web and follow its ongoing development. We also expect and encourage you to have driving passions outside your career
Alliant receives a platinum award for the 2012 Veritas Forum Annual Report, and two golds for the De Raedt and GenerosityFEEDS Identity Systems.
For the loyal fans of our previous site, you may be saddened to discover the lack of our featured, “Pez says” column. If you drop by the office (we love guests) you’ll be cheered to see the Pez collection is alive and well and threatening to consume our office like kudzu. Nevertheless, we felt that Pez had said its peace. The cease and desists orders from Pez Inc. may have played a small part as well… Thanks for the years of insight oh wise dispenser of knowledge and sugary goodness. You will be missed!
Remember the old saying “the shoe maker’s son has no shoes”? Well we don’t make shoes, but can apply that saying to this place. We have always worked hard to serve our clients – keeping busy making shoes for others while either going barefoot or wearing an old pair of sneakers. So finally, after much creative (soul searching) and development, we are excited to launch our new site and thrilled to have a new pair of shoes! Within any service industry, if you are passionate about what you do, your focus stays on the ones you serve. This is a […]
The year 2012 smiled on Alliant Studios (at least if awards are any indication of favor). The Davey Awards, a prestigious competition for the “Davids” of creativity (Big idea. Little rock.), honored the USO Annual Report with a GOLD award. The American Graphic Design Awards highlighted our crafted logos for Posh Production, Pie Sisters, and Generosity Feeds 1:4:1 respectively, in addition to a NeatHeat Conference Poster. The year continued to hold renown as Alliant was recognized again for the modern and classy Pie Sisters Identity in the HOW International Design Awards, ultimately showcased in the 2013 Awards Annual.
We’re always on the look out for new talent, and from time to time we have specific opportunities available. If you’re interested,
